In this paper, the process of surface modification in the aqueous dispersions of hydrophobic organic carbon nanoparticles stabilized by series of vinylmethyl- and vinyl-i-butyl ethers block copolymers of various structure as well as octadecylvinyl ether and methylvinyl ether block copolymers with different molecular-weight characteristics was studied. The particle surface modification by the above polymers was achieved by conventional adsorption and by ultrasonic action. The effect of mechanical treatment of the particle dispersion by ultrasonic power alone or in combination with surface-active polymer was also investigated. The efficiency of the particle surface coating by the polymer was followed by contact angle measurements. Data obtained enabled to make some conclusions about parameters of polymer adsorption layers.
