Synthesis, structure, Optical and transport properties of Cu- doped CeO2nanoparticles

Author: VENKATESWARARAO JILLEPALLI, G.SUBRAHMANYA SASTRY
Abstract: Pure and Cu (5%) doped CeO2 nanoparticles were synthesized via chemical process of co-precipitation method. The obtained results of X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirm single phase nature and cubic structure of all the samples. UV-Vis optical investigation measurements reveal that the band gap values are decreased with increasing crystallite size. Furthermore, the dielectric and conductivity investigation show the significant change with crystallite size of Cu-CeO2 particles. The increase in the dielectric constant at low frequency range is observed in both samples. In addition, the AC conductivity curves show adecreasing conductivity value with increasing crystallite size. The obtained enhanced optical dielectric properties in lower crystallite size is explained in terms of large surface-to-volume ratio, which will indece surface in-homogeneity in these nanoparticles.
