Awareness on Global Warming Among School Students

Global warming is caused due to rise in Earth’s temperature. Global warming is mainly caused due to increased concentration of greenhouse gases.Climate change is also a cause for global warming. People around the world emit carbon dioxide to the atmosphere in enormous quantities. The aim of this study is to create awareness on global warming among school students. Self administrated questionnaire was designed based on global warming. The questionnaire was distributed through an online survey planet link to the study population which consisted of school students. The participants were explained about the purpose of the study and responses were marked by the participants. In the present study, the majority of the participants were aware of global warming. The result concluded that 88.8% of participants were aware of the agents which cause global warming. 77.5% agreed that the main reason for melting of ice sheets in the poles was due to global warming. Global warming currently affects the health of millions of people. This survey provides very good insight into the awareness on global warming among school students. Education camps, seminars, workshops may be conducted in schools to create awareness on the deleterious effects of global warming among school students.
