Obesity is a growing global health problem. Obesity and dental caries are important health issues with multifactorial aspects. Some studies have shown an association between the body mass index (BMI) and dental caries in childhood and adolescence. The present study aimed to correlate dental caries and obesity in young individuals. A total of 100 subjects were divided into two groups, normal and obese who were 18-24 years old. For every individual BMI and DMFT index (Decayed, Missing and Filled teeth) were scored. The data were statistically analysed by linear regression analysis. The results showed that there was no positive correlation between obesity and dental caries in young adults.
