Importance of oral health at every stage of life is important but it assumes greater value at old age. Decline in oral health status was seen among elderly patients. Incidence of dental caries and periodontitis increased with increasing in age. The aim of the study is to analyse the dental health status of elderly orthopaedic patients. A cross-sectional study evaluating the dental health of elderly orthopaedic patients between the age group of 61-90 years was done. A total of 121 patients who satisfied the inclusion and exclusion criteria was included in the study. Periodontal health status and prevalence of dental caries was assessed and data was collected. Prevalence of periodontitis (52.07%) was more among the elderly orthopaedic patients compared to dental caries (47.93%). Prevalence of dental caries was more among the age group of 61-70 yrs (23.14%) compared to other age groups. Prevalence of periodontitis was more among the age group of 81-90 yrs (23.14%) compared to other age groups. Association between age and dental status was done using Pearson’s Chi-square test and the results were statistically significant ( Chi-square test value: 12.603; p=0.002, <0.05). Within the limits of the study, prevalence of periodontitis was more among the elderly orthopaedic patients
