Uses of piezo surgery also known as piezoelectric dental surgery in the field of implant dentistry is indispensable. Most of the hard tissue procedures done nowadays employ piezo surgery due to its relative ease of operation and makes the patient comfortable as it is minimally invasive with very low operative pain. Piezo surgery has been continuously evolving throughout these past decades and several new concepts have been incorporated for the betterment of both the patient and the clinician overcoming its past limitations. Now this device is used in various fields of dentistry such as periodontitis, oral and maxillofacial surgery, conservative dentistry and endodontics etc.. Unlike in the past decade it is gaining more popularity due to its safe and precise cutting of hard and soft tissue with minimal to no damage to the adjacent structures. This article aims to explore the uses of piezosurgery in various hard tissue augmentation techniques.
