Effect of Dental Chair Light on Bond Strength of Composite Used for Bonding of Brackets - An In Vivo Study

| Abstract:

The objectives of the study was to evaluate the effect of dental chair light on the rate of bond failure in orthodontic practice. This was a split mouth study comprising of 70 patients. The patients were followed up for 6 months to evaluate the bond failures if any in both the groups. There was no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between the Groups. Dental chair light has no adverse effect on the survival rate of brackets. Hence, LED dental chair light illumination can be safely used during bonding procedures in Orthodontics.
