Abstract:

The concept of Multiple Interactive Learning Algorithm (MILA) is to engage the students or draw the attention of students so that they retain whatever is taught for a longer period. Just like any other subject, some chapters or aspects in periodontology too, are generally considered quite difficult to grasp and remember especially with many abbreviations, terminologies and mechanisms. Hence in order to make this process of teaching and learning more simplified, we adopt game play activities that reinforce the important terminologies and enhance the critical thinking skills of students to resolve complicated matters of the subject. Therefore this article elaborately explains the variety of interactive learning algorithms incorporated in some of the periodontology chapters ranging from non-clinical like immunology to clinical related topics like periodontal flap surgery, mucogingival surgery, regenerative periodontics etc.
