A new stage in the development of the chemical and pharmaceutical industry during transition to the knowledge economy

Abstract: Currently, the role of digitalization is significantly increasing, which is gradually becoming one of the main factors in the development of the world economy, being the first step towards the knowledge economy. Combining production and information and computing processes expands opportunities for both improving the efficiency of enterprises and improving the quality of life. The use of new technologies corrects not only the internal, but also the external environment of the enterprise, which puts forward new requirements for the organization of the enterprise, involving the development of new approaches to doing business. In the article "Chemical industry 4.0" as a new stage in the development of chemical-pharmaceutical industry, characterized by the spread of digitization and the principles of the recycling economy; the advantages of the circular economy, to consider the chemical industry throughout the life cycle of the product. In the country's economy, a key factor of stability in the long term should be a policy of constant innovation and introduction of innovations, which requires enterprises to make quick and radical decisions, often affecting the strategic line of their development. The article provides recommended actions for enterprises in the context of digitalization as the main vector of development.
