Microwave Synthesis and Characterization of Some Novel ? -Lactams which are Studied to Antioxidant and Biological Activity

Abstract:

Background: This research is concerned with the synthesis, characterization, studied to Antioxidant and ?-lactams biological activity (2a-3d). Compounds of ?-lactams were synthesized by the reaction of succinic anhydride and phenyl succinic anhydride with suitable Schiff bases (1a-1d) by Microwave in DMF with reasonable incomes (62-90 %). The spectral studies of ?-lactams structures were established using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, and CHN analysis. The ?-lactams (2a-3d) were utilized to test the in vitro antimicrobial activities, which gave good results against the two species of microorganisms such staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. In addition, the activities of antioxidant of the compounds (2a-3d) were also inspected through their hunting effect on ‘‘2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl‘‘ [DPPH].
