Association between Pregnancy Exercise and Sleep Quality in Second Trimester Pregnant Women

Abstract:

The purpose of this research was to determining the relationship between pregnancy exercise and sleep quality in second trimester pregnant women. The research is an observational analytics study with a Cross-sectional design.83 second trimester participated. We are examining for antenatal exercise by interview. Meanwhile, sleep quality is using the Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI). Sampling was done by consecutive non-random sampling in Puskesmas Kecamatan Grogol Petamburan from August to October 2019. The analytical result for the relationship between antenatal exercise and sleep quality is to whom which do not an antenatal exercise is having a bad sleep quality roughly 44.5%; meanwhile, the respondents who active on antenatal exercise are having a good sleep quality approximately 33.7%. Based on the chi-square test, which was acquired a value of p=0.000 (p<0.05) statistically, it can be inferred that there was a significant relation between antenatal exercise and sleep quality of second trimester. There was a significant correlation between pregnancy exercises with the quality of sleep in the second trimester pregnant women carried out in the Grogol Petamburan District Health Center, West Jakarta.
