Literature through the times has emphasised on major risk factors and an early diagnosis of oral lesions has been indicated as one of the most important issues to address in the prevention of oral cancer. We report a case of chronic ulceration which was diagnosed as Actinic Cheilitis. A 65-year-old female patient reported with an ulcer on the lower lip of 4-month duration. Patient reported with chief complaint of pain and difficulty in eating as she had a burning sensation in relation to the lesion, the patient was a farmer and had no habits. On clinical examination, generalised areas of hyperpigmentation was present on the upper and lower lips. On localised examination, solitary circumscribed ulcer measuring approximately 2.5cm x1.5cm covering the entire lower lip, extending from the vermilion border of the lower lip till the commissures with regular border. Provisionally diagnosed as Actinic Cheilitis. Incisional Biopsy was done and histopathological evaluation gave a final diagnosis of Actinic Cheilitis. The patient was treated with 0.1% triamcinolone acetonide for 15 days which showed satisfactory healing.
