Many techniques have been developed over the last 3 decades to correct post extraction ridge deficiencies. Socket sealing surgery is performed for the preservation of the form and volume of the soft tissue by covering the resulting socket to aid in esthetics, function and future implant placement. This procedure is usually necessary to improve the esthetic results of the maxillary anterior or premolar areas. Free gingival autograft(FGG) is one of the most predictable and commonly used techniques to gain keratinised tissue. The use of FGG during socket preservation may be beneficial for future implant placement in reducing the chances of a peri implant soft tissue defect, and may also reduce the future risk for peri implantitis. This article deals with a case report of anterior socket preservation with the use of free gingival autograft for socket sealing.
