Background: Oral health can affect the general health,well being,education and development of an individual.Malocclusion is not a disease in itself but a variation in arrangement of teeth, morphology of jaws, face and cranium. Awareness is the state or ability to perceive, to feel or to be conscious. Awareness forms the basis for planning oral health which is an inseparable part of general health. The aim of this study is to create self awareness to undergo orthodontic treatment among adolescence. A questionnaire was prepared based on the topic.The questionnaire was distributed through an online survey planet link the study population included 100 students belonging to the 15-25 age group. Based on the survey conducted 50% of the population under the group age of 15-25 have undergone orthodontic treatment. Globally, there has been an increase in awareness of Orthodontics as a dental specialty in children as well as adults.About 70% of the population were aware that orthodontic treatment must be done in early age. Malocclusion cases are still not treated properly due to ignorance of patients, parents, inadequacy of resources, lack of knowledge about malocclusion and other influencing factors like literacy rate and socio-economic status.
