Estimation of stature from length of the leg with reference to spherion in young, adult and aged population

Author: AMRITHAASHRI.S , KARTHIK GANESH MOHANRAJ
Abstract: The lower limb is primarily adapted for bearing weight and locomotion. This functional need together with the attainment of a habitual erect bipedal posture has shown the different change in both the functional and mechanical requirements. The upper end of tibia is expanded to form lateral and medial condyles which articulates the corresponding surface of femur. The medial condyle is ovoid and larger, and the lateral condyle is small and circular. It was reported that the morphology of the medial tibial plateau varies from the lateral tibial plateau. First, the study was explained to all the participants of young, aged and adult, then their legs were measured according to their age, it was also measured in their right and left leg, 100 people participated and some of them had the same length of the leg, the study was taken with the help of the measurer. In total height , the height of the male in aged population is 162.33 which is greater than the young and adult population. In females the height of the adult is 168.34 that is greater than young and adult population. In length of the males aged is greater that is 31.82, that other two, in females in length adult is 36.46 that is greater than the young and aged. This study concluded by saying that mostly the aged population is higher and they have their length of the leg longer than the adult and young population.
