One of the leading causes of dental implant loss in the present time is peri-implantitis. Peri-implantitis (PI) is a disease of the tissues surrounding dental implants. This paper describes a clinical case of peri-implantitis treated with laser debridement. The use of diode and Er:YAG lasers allows the removal of inflamed tissue and the bacterial biofilm from the implant surface which results in bone regeneration/reparation in the peri-implant area. In this present study, we have discussed about using lasers to be used in treating peri implantitis. Laser therapy can significantly reduce levels of clinical markers of peri-implant tissue inflammation (such as, bleeding upon probing and clinical attachment loss) without interrupting the integrity of the implant or alveolar bone. From this case series, it is observed that Er,Cr YSGG laser is effective and safe in the therapy of peri-implantitis.
