There are multiple anatomical triangles present in the human skull base. To allow a safe and consistent approach to the landmarks of skull base a comprehensive review of the variations with illustrations is required. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to analyse the anatomical borders, average dimensions, and clinical implications of kawase’s triangles. The present study was carried out in 15 human dry skull bones. Using the digital sliding vernier caliper, the length and breadth of kawase’s triangle were measured. From the study it was found that the boundaries of Kawase’s triangle are Lateral margin of greater petrosal nerve medially, Lateral edge of the trigeminal nerve at the crest of petrous apex laterally, the base consists of a line connecting the posterior border of the mandibular division of the trigeminal nerve and the crest of the petrous apex to the centre of the geniculate ganglion. Knowledge of anatomical structures and their respective dimensions of the human skull base are critical in the recognition of pathology and the avoidance of injury to vascular and nervous structures. The skull base triangles allows surgeons to access the neurological lesions through corridors while recognizing the key adjacent structures.
