MTA has numerous clinical applications in paediatric dentistry, due to its biocompatibility and high successful rate. Hence, this study was conducted to evaluate the clinical applications of MTA and its efficiency based on existing evidence from randomized clinical trials. Electronic research and screening was conducted from March 2009 to March 2020, via the NCBI library through the PubMed database research publications. The literature search focused on the clinical applications of MTA in pediatric dentistry. This systematic review was conducted and reported according to the PRISMA statement. Based on the evaluation of all the included studies, MTA was commonly used for pulpectomy and indirect pulp capping procedures. Analysation of the dental materials observed that MTA demonstrated better clinical and radiographic outcome in compared to calcium hydroxide (CH), diluted formocresol (DFC), biodentine and GIC Type VII. Meanwhile, internal root resorption (IRR), internal root resorption - perforated (IRR-P) and periradicular lesion (PRL) were commonly associated with failure of the treatments. MTA can be used for various vital pulp therapy such as pulpotomy and indirect pulp capping. MTA also demonstrated superior clinical and radiographic success in comparison to other dental materials.
