Abstract:

Early childhood caries (ECC) is a serious public health problem in both developing and industrialized countries. Early childhood caries (ECC) is a particular form of rampant caries that affects the primary dentition and many begin as soon as the first tooth erupts in the oral cavity.The aim of this study was to evaluate the amount of knowledge and awareness regarding early childhood caries (ECC) among dental students. The sample size included both undergraduate and postgraduate students.The total participants were 100 in number. A set of questionnaires eliciting awareness on early childhood caries among dental students the survey was conducted in May 2020. The obtained data was transferred to an excel sheet and it was coded and analyzed using Spss software. In the results obtained post graduate students were more aware about ECC than the undergraduate students. The responders are aware of Early childhood caries (ECC) . This will enable better understanding and prevention of Early childhood caries.
