Author: VALERIY V.BENBERIN, AZHENOV M.TALAPBEK, AINUR S.SIBAGATOVA, NAGIMTAEVA A.ALMAGUL, AKHMETOVA M.KAMSHAT, TAMARA A.VOCHSHENKOVA
Abstract: Metabolic syndrome is becoming a major health risk in the world. Its pathogenesis is based on the interactions between genetic and specific environmental factors and lifestyle. The review focuses on genetic factors metabolic syndrome and research opportunities in this area, performed using electronic search in the databases PubMed, Science Direct and Google Scholar. From the English-language peer-reviewed journals in the period from 2016 to 2020, there were 27 original articles and reviews selected in which the authors considered the metabolic syndrome as a separate clinical and biochemical unit. The presentation is dictated by the ideas reflected in these publications. It was determined that modeling a complex dynamic system in the study of genetics, metabolic syndrome is the most promising. The combination and integration of genome-wide genetic variations, detailed phenotypic and omnichistic data on millions of people into a single whole can bring closer understanding of the genetic basis of metabolic syndrome, as well as the development of effective interventions. In addition, new scientific ideas, elaborated in detail on small cohorts, can also be a source of new knowledge about the genetic structure of metabolic syndrome.
