Outcomes of Patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Treated with Chemotherapy in Middle Euphrates Region of Iraq: Data from Developing Country

Abstract:

Aim: To evaluate the outcomes of patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in Middle Euphrates region of Iraq.
Materials & Methods: A retrospective study conducted at Al- Hussein cancer center in Karbala province of Iraq between February 2012 and June 2020.
Results: There were 67 patients with CLL , thirty seven patients were male , thirty patients were female , M:F ratio was 1.23:1. Mean age at presentation was 58.85 ± 12.16 years. Peripheral lymphadenopathy was the most common clinical presentation (56.72%). Rai stage IV & Binet stage C were the most frequent stage (34.33%) & (61.19%) respectively. FCR & RB protocols were the most frequent chemotherapy protocols.
Conclusion: Our patients tend to presented in advance stages with mean age younger than western countries.
