Abstract:
|
Background: The mandibular bone consists of the mandibular corpus and the mandibular ramus. Radiographic examinations which are generally used to view teeth and jaws are panoramic radiographs.
Purpose: This literature study aims to to conduct research on evaluating the position of the mental foramen based on age and gender.
Methods: This type of study was observational descriptive. It consisted of 98 samples divided by age and sex. The sex variable is divided into 2 groups, male and female.
Result: in the age group 26-35 years the position of the left mental foramen found the position of the mental foramen parallel to the first molar teeth.
Conclusion: the position of the mental foramen is parallel to the second premolar teeth is the most position in the evaluation of the mental foramen position through panoramic radiography observations based on age and sex.
