Background: Acrylic resin is a denture base material that has a long polymer chain called polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) and has been commonly used as a denture base because PMMA has biological and mechanical properties, that meet ideal conditions for making a good denture base.
Purpose: to conduct research on the effect of adding chitosan nano gel to the mechanical properties of hot acrylic polymerization resin.
Methods: The research conducted was an experimental laboratory study with a post test only control group design. In the research, chitosan nano gel added to the acrylic resin material was divided into 6 groups. The test results were calculated using the impact strength formula. The research data was then analyzed using one-way ANOVA test and Tukey HSD test.
Results: The results of the Tukey HSD test data show a significant difference if the probability value is equal to 0.05 (p <0.05).
Conclusion : addition of chitosan nano gel with different concentrations to determine changes in other properties possessed by hot polymerization acrylic resin denture base material.
