Association Of Age And Gender In Patients With Class V Caries Indicated For Root Canal Treatment In The Age Group 60-80 Years

As per G.V Black classification of class V dental caries is the cavity on the cervical region .Complication of which can involve pulp and lead to root canal treatment . To assess class V caries advised for root canal treatment.204 entries of class V lesion were assessed and collected from the dental archives patient records and assessed in a university setting using SPSS software by IBM from June 2019 to April 2020 .Statistical analysis performed using chi square test .Elderly age are more affected of which age group 60-70 years is the most affected which is 68.18% and the least is above 80 years of age which is 2.84%. There is an overall male predominance which is 72.73% & females 27.27% , p value (> 0.05) insignificant [chi square test].Within the limitations the age group 60-70 years underwent more root canal treatment in the teeth with class V caries. The Male population seem to have Class V caries with pulpal involvement. There is no significant association between the gender and age group with number of root canal treatment in the teeth with class V caries.
