The current study aimed to assess the prevalence of pre-prosthetic surgery performed before fabrication of complete denture.225 case sheets of patients who underwent fabrication of complete denture prosthesis between March 2019 to March 2020 were assessed to evaluate if pre-prosthetic surgery was performed before fabrication of complete denture. The type of pre-prosthetic surgery performed was also noted. The data was obtained from the institutional record maintenance systems. The data obtained from the case sheets were tabulated using Excel. Prevalence was assessed using descriptive statistics.Correlation between gender and pre-prosthetic surgery was assessed using chi-square test. The study revealed that pre-prosthetic surgery was performed in 38% cases before fabrication of CD. Of this 41% of the patients underwent alveoplasty and 11.2% patients underwent soft tissue correction and 1.3% people underwent tori removal.Pre-prosthetic surgery is an important aspect taken into consideration during fabrication of complete denture. It affects the quality and acceptance of the prosthesis. The clinical examinations should take into consideration factors that will favour or hinder the use of the prosthesis. Further research on this field should be encouraged to increase the awareness and to enhance the fit and satisfaction of the prosthesis.
