Abstract:

Complete removal of the microorganisms from the root canal is a complicated task. The Root canal treatment is done to remove these microorganisms. In this treatment, Irrigants plays a major role. Commercially used irrigants are chlorhexidine, sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide and saline. Antibiotics are prescribed in numerous disciplines of medicines and dentistry since the decades till now. The Triple antibiotic paste (TAP) is a combination of three antibiotics minocycline, ciprofloxacin and Metronidazole. The chronic or necrotic pulp will not have a blood supply so it will lose its sensitivity. All the antibiotics will have good antimicrobial activity. With the essential properties of antibiotics it can be used as a Root canal irrigant. The aim of this present study is to elaborate the usage of antibiotics and its application in the field of endodontics. This Article was framed by reviewing various other articles with the various search engines like Pubmed, Google scholar, MESH and excetra. All the articles collected regarding this topic was without any timeframe. The aim of the present study is to elaborate the usage of antibiotics and its application in the field of endodontics .
