The aim of the study is to bring awareness about the recent advances in the treatment of lymphoma. A well-structured questionnaire covering socio - demographic information, knowledge, attitude, perception was framed and administered to the participants. This Study was conducted during the year 2020 in Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Chennai. The data was collected and statistically analysed in SPSS. Chi-Square analysis was performed and p<0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Majority of them are aware of the effects caused by smoking. Doctors classify more than 70 cancer types as lymphomas. Lymphomas can affect any portion of the lymphatic system. A number of medical specialists collaborate to treat lymphoma. Hematologists are doctors who specialize in blood, bone marrow, and immune cell disorders. Oncologists treat cancerous tumors. Pathologists may work with these doctors to assist in treatment planning and identify if a particular treatment is working. Lymphoma treatments depend upon the cancer’s stage. The association between gender and the prolonged usage of tobacco was done, the difference is not statistically significant, Chi square test, (p)= 0.393; p>0.05. The association between gender and the smoking habits was done, the difference is not statistically significant, Chi square test, (p)= 0.362; p>0.05. Doctors will “stage” a tumor to signify how far the cancerous cells may have spread. A stage 1 tumor is limited to a few lymph nodes, while a stage 4 tumor has spread to other organs, such as the lungs or bone marrow. Hodgkin's lymphoma is a highly curable disease, according to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Community. The rate of survival for both NHL and Hodgkin's lymphoma depends on how far the cancer cells have spread and the type of cancer. The overall five-year survival rate for NHL patients is 70 percent, and the 10-year survival rate is 60 per cent, according to the American Cancer Society ( ACS). The survival rate for Hodgkin’s lymphoma depends upon its stage. The association between gender and awareness of the lymphoma shows that males and females were equally aware.
