Despite plenty successful efforts to improve access to care, healthcare utilization in India is a debatable topic. Present study aimed at surveying community scenario for healthcare utilization in context with morbidity profile. 100 urban and 150 rural families were considered for this cross sectional survey. Socio-demographic data, economic status and health services utilization related information was solicited. Morbidity information was collected in 3 format 1. Disability prevalence in a year 2. Chronic Illness in a year 3. Acute illness incidence and time trend in a year with 4 quarterly follow-ups. The prevalence of chronic illness was four-fold higher in urban group (16.02%) than the same in rural group (4.86%). However, the odds ratio for diabetes was 2.17, which suggested rural population at greater risk of diabetes than urban patients. Over the counter services were found to have higher prevalence in rural population (54.65%) than urban population(45.99%) Further larger studies with clinical correlation could better explain disease modification profile. With contextual analysis, targeted interventions for non-communicable diseases and antibiotic stewardship programs are recommended to reduce disease burden.
