Implications of Click Chemistry on Human Health

Abstract: This review focuses on important reaction of organic chemistry known as click reactions. The reaction is quick, tolerant to many functional groups, requires mild conditions. For the synthesis of medicinal compounds, click chemistry is considered as one of the easiest approach towards the discovery of novel molecules. Along with receptors, enzymes are also involved in various biological processes and can be chosen as drug targets. Various enzyme inhibitors can be synthesized effortlessly with click chemistry. Through the study of these enzyme inhibitors various fatal diseases like cancer, tuberculosis, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, congestive heart failure etc can be cured.
