Abstract:

Malaysia has a dual burden of disease, with infectious diseases especially dengue and tuberculosis remaining as persistent public health problems. However, non-communicable diseases pose a rapidly growing disease burden, currently accounting for 72% of Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) lost due to premature death and morbidity.
