Review Article on Assess the Non-Pharmacological Management for Knee Osteoarthritis

Abstract: It is a chronic disease of the knee joint, signs and symptoms of joint pain and reduced quality of life1. It is treated by non-pharmacological measures, no need for surgical treatment. The main aim of the non-pharmacological treatment is to reduce pain, stiffness, increase range of motion in the joint. surgical treatment is effective but it will produce the side effects. NICE gave some guideline and has suggest the management of osteoarthritis, which include pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment. Non pharmacological treatments are (therapies, exercise, yoga). ESCAPE rehabilitation programme for knee osteoarthritis patients. It is more effective treatment than nursing care to the patients. The number of review articles shows the effectiveness of non-pharmacological treatment for knee osteoarthritis.
