Purpose of the study - studying the possibility of using innovative methods for the diagnosis of pain in patients with trigeminal neuralgia. The results of a study of pain syndrome in patients with severe stenosis of the carotid and vertebral arteries (group 1, 20 patients) and patients without stenosis (group 2, 20 patients) are presented using VAS and McGill pain questionnaire. High correlation coefficients were obtained between analog scales and the pain questionnaire in the 1st and 2nd groups 0.72 and 0.73, respectively. A reliable (p <0.01) strong relation between analogue scales and a pain questionnaire was proven. When evaluating the sensory, emotional, evaluative components of the McGill questionnaire, it was revealed that the pain syndrome in the first group is more pronounced than in the second.
