A review of the literature on the study of the hereditary foundations of predisposition to bronchial asthma is given. Detailed information on the molecular genetic mechanisms of the formation of bronchial asthma is provided. The results of studies on the connection of phenotypic manifestations of the disease with polymorphism of the ß2-adrenergic receptor gene in various populations are analyzed. This article provides a review of current data on the effect of polymorphic variants of the ß2-adrenoreceptor gene on the development of asthma and the effectiveness of treatment for this disease.
