Abstract: Nowadays, due to the development of satellite sensors, the processes implemented of rational land use planning, mapping analyze, creating maps. Land use / cover maps are very important tool for agriculture and natural resources. The main purpose of the research is to create a map of land use / land cover in the Chimbay district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan using methods of GIS and remote sensing. The source material for the creating map of land use and land cover was statistical data, electronic agricultural maps (1:25 000), satellite image from the Landsat 8 OLI / TIRS and high-resolution Google Earth images. This study applied unsupervised Iso Cluster algorithm in LANDSAT imagine to detect land cover/land use types observed using multispectral satellite data obtained from Landsat 8 for the year 2018 respectively. The district land was classified into five major land cover/use classes viz. High vegetation, low vegetation, bare land, saline areas, and water. As a result, a technology for mapping from satellite images was made and created a map of land use and land cover using GIS and remote sensing methods. This will help to determine land use and land cover change, analyze, and monitor the land types of other regions, as well as their environmental status
