Abstract: Currently, transient prostate resection and holmium laser enucleation of prostate (HoLEP) is a modern, gentle and highly effective method for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia comparable in improving lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) and urodynamic parameters in the postoperative period. Of particular interest is the set of non-invasive methods of examination, which can serve as a guideline for identifying patients with a risk of preservation of the pathological processes in the bladder in the postoperative period. Methods. We analyzed the results of 39 patients aged 56-76 years (average 68.3±5.7 years). Patients underwent holmium laser enucleation of the prostate gland (HoLEP). The inclusion criteria were absence of impaired renal function, inflammatory processes, and systemic and chronic diseases. Results. Six (15.3%) patients with a complicated postoperative period after laser enucleation (HoLEP), including 1 (2.5%) with urosepsis, 2 (5%) with acute pyelonephritis, and 2 (5%) with acute prostatitis, and 1 (2.5%) with acute epididymitis had deviations from the typical postoperative dynamics of the contents of the lipid peroxidation products in the blood serum, despite the use of standard anti-bacterial medication. The blood serum concentration of ceruloplasmin in patients with inflammatory complications after 24 hours after laser enucleation was significantly reduced in comparison with the corresponding indices of patients with uneventful post-operative period. Summary: We can state that a set of non-invasive methods of examination can serve as a guide for identifying patients with preserved pathological processes in the bladder in the postoperative period. In the postoperative period, patients with preserved dysfunction of the detrusor should be guided by the indicators of activation and continuation of lipid peroxidation processes. The study of indicators of lipid peroxidation and ceruloplasmin can be used to assess the effectiveness of the controlled use of antioxidant drugs in the postoperative period.
