Abstract:
|
Background: Abdominal malignancies are a common problem in the western world which is on a rise in India due to changes in lifestyle. Lifestyle factors include smoking, obesity, increased consumption of red meat, processed foods and increased incidence of diabetes mellitus.
Objectives: 1. To correlate preoperative abnormal parameters with ultimate outcome in cases of abdominal malignancy. 2. To correlate actual operative findings with radio-pathological findings. 3. To assess the outcome of treatment in abdominal malignancy.
Methodology: This study will be done on the patients of Abdominal malignancies coming to Department of Surgery, Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha. It will be conducted at Dept. of surgery, J.N.M.C and Acharya Vinoba Bhave Rural Hospital, Sawangi (Meghe), Wardha of DMIMS (DU).
Results: Most of the patients are expected to be in the age group of 40-50 years and in the advanced stage.
Conclusion: The diagnostic accuracy of the radiopathology is good. Outcome is poor since maximum patients come in the later stages of disease.
