So there should be early recognition of individuals with hypertension. There is mortality associated with hypertension. The association between obesity over the abdomen and HTN remains unclear. Measurements such as BMI, WC, WHR cannot find the difference between visceral and subcutaneous fat. Till now there has been no studies regarding utilizing VAI to predict Hypertension. Hence, this study aims to find out whether VAI can be used to predict HTN incidence in community based pre hypertensives.
