Background: ‘NAFLD’ is strongly associated with prediabetes group of population than persons with metabolic syndrome. People with ‘NAFLD’ and Random blood sugar level >110 mg/dl had 93.3% incidence rate of prediabetes. ‘NAFLD’ is solid and self-regulating risk factor for prediabetes in the general adult population. Thus ‘NAFLD’ population should be classified as a person under risk. Therefore, we aim to investigate ‘NAFLD’ in prediabetes.
Objectives: 1) Anthropometric indices like BMI, neck circumference, WHR and waist to height ratio in prediabetic group of persons with and without ‘NAFLD’.
2) Anthropometric indices like BMI, neck circumference, WHR and waist to height ratio in diabetic group of persons with and without ‘NAFLD’
3) Biochemical investigations like liver function tests, Lipid profile in prediabetic group persons with and without ‘NAFLD’
4) Biochemical investigations like liver function tests, Lipid profile in diabetic group persons with and without ‘NAFLD’
Methodology: This is a prospective cross-sectional study, Patients attending medicine OPD and IPD are screened, in order to investigate NAFLD prevalence in prediabetic and Diabetic group of population.
Results: We expect the result to derive at a conclusion that T2DM patients are more prone to ‘NAFLD’ than normal individuals
Conclusion: According to previous studies, Type-II DM patients are prone to NAFLD than normal individuals. Early screening of the persons with NAFLD for type-2 diabetes mellitus shows high benefit rates.
