Background: Prediabetes also known as intermediate hyperglycemia is a type of diabetes disorder characterized by glycemic values higher than average but lower than those considered as markers for diabetes. Adding to glycemic values, the estimate of the risk of diabetes can be improved by risk scores which have multiple factors and using blood dependent metabolic traits and non-invasive procedures and treatments.
Objectives: We shall compare endothelial function by FMD in cases of prediabetes with non-diabetic subjects and also compare the FMD values with anthropometric markers like BMI, waist-hip ratio and waist circumference with fasting lipid values in prediabetes.
Methodology: This will be a cross-sectional study with cases and control group and will be conducted in a rural medical teaching hospital in Central India.
Expected Outcome: By doing this study, we can make an early diagnosis of prediabetes and we can decrease or prevent the progress of prediabetes to full blown diabetes and further more prevent the organ damage related to it, and can make the necessary lifestyle modification by early detection of prediabetes. Early diagnosis of prediabetic condition and prevention of progression to diabetes is the main aim of the study.
