Numbers of approaches have been tried in the pursuit of the stable emulsion system along with microemulsions, here in the microemulsion based gel used for topical delivery system describes the important approach with the logical interpretation. Ophthalmic, rectal, vaginal & skin acts as topical routes of drug delivery system by which drug can deliver anywhere in the body. Topical delivery system includes a wide range of cosmetic and dermatological preparations, for the malnourished skin. Microemulgel is having a dual releasing control system including both gel & emulsion, so it emerged as one of the most fascinating topical delivery systems due to its properties. Hydrophobic and hydrophilic, both types of drugs are incorporated in this type of delivery system to the process of dosage. The main aim of microemulgel formulations is to deliver hydrophobic medicines via the skin route to the systemic circulation. In topical drug delivery i.e. microemulgel, drugs directly delivered to its target sites such as skin and mucous membranes bypasses the first-pass effect and also it’s better penetration due to its micron size globule and show control drug release with gelling properties formulation, all are advantages of microemulgel. Favorable properties of microemulgel, for dermatological & cosmetic use, are thixotropic, emollient in nature, spread simply, bio-friendly, smooth, translucent and elegant appearance, due to which it improves skin deposit, their therapeutic effect, and AP deposition as well.
