Study of Serum Magnesium Levels in Diabetic Patients

| Abstract:
|
The present study includes 30 nondiabetic controls with serum magnesium values ranging from 1.7 to 2.3 mg/dL, with mean of 1.95 mg / dL. 100 diabetic subjects showed serum magnesium values ranging from 1 to 2.2 mg / dL. with mean of 1.649 mg / dL. The difference between mean values is highly significant and this provides us with normal range of serum magnesium as 1.892 to 2.008mg/dL. Thus, the values of serum magnesium below 1.8 mg / dL are considered as abnormal (low serum magnesium).
