Perception on Novel Phytodrug Delivery System: NPDDS in Herbal Medicine

Author: ARCHANA. I, SELVAKUMARI. E, GOPAL. V
Abstract: The global acceptance for the herbal medicine increased in the modern era due to its potent active molecules. Due to the complex structure of phytometabolites and its poor solubility and instability, there is a hindrance in the usage of herbal medicine. The formulation of phytomedicine in the area of NDDS should be more concentrated at basic research and in the clinical trial levels, to overcome the solubility and bioavailability challenges in the phytoceuticals. This review article gives the compilation of phytometabolites formulated into novel drug delivered nanoparticles, the method of formulation, challenges in formulating nanoemulsion and characterization techniques. In addition, it addresses a key for the researchers to formulate novel phytodrug delivered dosage form from biomolecules for the benefit of mankind against various diseases and disorders.
