Environmental monitoring of finished pharmaceuticals during transportation refers to controlling various factors that can affect the quality of the drugs/finished pharmaceuticals. With the evolution of transportation services, the limitations in transferring of goods over larger distances have considerably decreased. But the availability of efficient transportation alone isn’t enough in case of finished pharmaceuticals. The finished pharmaceuticals or in other words drugs are made of one or a combination of chemicals and hence these are susceptible to thermal and hydrolytic degradations. During the course of transportation of these drugs it’s important that proper environmental monitoring is done, so that the drugs do not undergo any kind of degradation and quality products reach the customers. In this review article the environmental control for the finished pharmaceuticals has been studied. The importance and significance of environmental control along with the existing technologies and supporting guidelines along with the role played by the QA department have been covered.
