Abstract:

Osteoporosis is a skeletal disorder of reduced bone strength, requires a proper diagnosis to reduce the risk of bone fracture or further damages. Present study validates the use of 7-bit barker coded thermal wave imaging for the diagnosis of osteoporosis. Further, acquired thermal response is processed by employing chirp-Z transform based frequency zoomed phase analysis. A polynomial relation between observed phases to the bone density variation is drawn to estimate the severity of osteoporosis. Quality of Density variation detection through proposed approach is compared in view of signal to noise ratios with conventional methods.
