Comparative In Vitro Evaluation of Pharmaceutical and Chemical Equivalence of Seven brands of Aceclofenac tablets.

Author: UPLOADED BY-ADMIN, O.D. SHERIKAR, M.P. PURANIK, P.G. YEOLE
Abstract: The aim of present study is to investigate the chemical and physical equivalence of seven brands of tablets containing aceclofenac sourced from different retail pharmacy stores in Indian market. The physicochemical equivalence of seven different brands of aceclofenac tablets was assessed. The assessment included the evaluation of uniformity of weight, disintegration tests to check physical equivalence. Chemical equivalence was assessed by two techniques HPLC and UV – spectrophotometric method. All brands of the tablets passed the test for uniformity of weight; disintegration time and content of aceclofenac. There were no significant differences in the amount of aceclofenac present in different brands. All the seven brands of the aceclofenac tablets evaluated in this study could be regarded as being pharmaceutically and chemically equivalent.
