Synthesis of an(organic reagent)[4-(6-Nitro-2-benzothiazolylazo) phloroglucinol] and using: for spectrophotometric determination of) Lead (II).

Author: ZAINAB KHUDHAIR
Abstract: The new organic reagent [ 4-(6-Nitro-2-benzothiazolylazo)phloroglucinol] (6-NO2BTAPG), is synthesized by diazo coupling (2-amino-6-nitro benzothiazol) (2-ANO2BT) with phloroglucinol, the proposed method was sensitive and selective for the rapid determination of Pb(II). a maximum absorbance observed at 478 nm for Pb(II) complex also the absorbance remains stable over twenty four hrs. The obeying to Beer's law was in the range (0.1-25) ppm , molar absorptivity (4268.3): L.mol -1.cm-1 :,and D.L ( 0.2271) ppm . Relative standard deviation for seven replication measurements , relative error and Recovery for accuracy and precision of method (R.S.D=0.7571% , Erel = 1.5 % , and Re=101.5 % ) .The physical properties of complex was studied , the: stoichiometry of (M:L) ratio was (1:2) ,and the stability constant of 1.014 x 10+9 L2.mol-2 . The most important interferences were studied and masked by using suitable masking agents.
