The aim behind presenting this work is to explore glimpses made on work done on buccoadhesive films for prolonging the drug delivery. Researchers are getting attracted to the direction of these systems. But, minimal attempts were illustrated. Buccoadhesive films are an innovative thought to bypass the gastric irritation and first-pass metabolism. These films are easy in making, exploit, and characterize. An intense search was made and the past work done on buccoadhesive films was collected from peer refereed journals. In this article, the authors listed various drugs attempted in making bucco films with polymers. This is to conclude that this review will help the new researchers to have a glance at past work done on buccal films.
