The prevalence of cardiometabolic disorders is growing in epidemic proportions all over the world, hence cardiometabolic disorders are one of the major health problem in developing as well as in developed countries. The previous reports suggested the role of the vitamin D status in the occurrence of cardiometabolic disorders. Few clinical trials are reported for vitamin D supplementation in cardiometabolic disorders. However, their results are inconsistent, hence there is lacking of prominent evidences. Vitamin D deficiency and cardiometabolic disorders are highly prevalent in Ahmedabad region of India. Study will be performed as open label, randomization, parallel, single centric, and prospective design at Tej Hospital, Ahmedabad, Gujarat to evaluate the effects of vitamin D supplementation on cardiometabolic disorders throughout 12 months. On basis of inclusion and exclusion criteria, cardiometabolic patients will be enrolled and prospective study will be conducted. It will be the first study in gujarati people of Ahmedabad region, India. Our findings may provide the conclusive evidence for the effect of vitamin D supplementation in the prevention of cardiometabolic disorders.
