| Abstract:

Breast cancer is the most common type of female malignancy. In Iraq approximately one – third of women
cancer death and showed an increase incidence rates in the last years. The prospective, case – control study
on Iraqi patients with breast cancer for estimation interleukin 6, tumor necrosis factor – a and interleukin
10.The studyincluded two groups ( patients and control ) . Sixty blood samples collected from patients in
teaching oncology hospital / medical city and twenty blood samples collected from healthy women considered
as control group from Iraqi National Blood Bank / Medical City .The three cytokines estimated by ELIZA
technique . The results showed a significant elevation of IL-6 ( 20.590pg/ml ) in patients in comparison with
control ( 4.405 pg/ml ) , IL-10 ( 8.793 pg/ml ) in comparison with control ( 2.830 pg/ml ) and TNF-a ( 25.963
pg/ml ) in comparison with control ( 4.685 pg/ml ) .
