Synthesis, Characterization and Evaluation of the Biological Activity of Azetidin -2-carbonyl Derivatives of Thymine Nitrogenous Base

Author: SALWA SATTAR, SOHEIR ATIA KHALAF, AHMED HACHIM SULTAN
Abstract: This study involves the first four steps of synthesis of compound [S1] from the interaction of 2-chloro acetyl chloride with thymine nitrogen base using trithylthenamine Et3N and the reaction was conducted within a temperature [5 – 00C]. The second step is to prepare the compound [S2] from the reaction of the compound [S1] prepared in the first step with the aqueous hydrazine compound (95%) in absolute ethanol using a strong base medium. The third step is to prepare the hydrozones [S3-S10] from the reaction of the compound [S2] prepared in the second step with some benzaldehyde compensators in absolute ethanol using an acid medium. The fourth step was the preparation of a quadruple episode of aziteidine derivatives [S16-S10] from the reaction of the prepared hydrozones with 2-chloro acetyl chloridein dioxane. The synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral methods and physical with such as, FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, Melting point, TLC. Antibacterial activity for some synthesized compounds have been tested on four know isolates bacteria, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumonia, Staphylococcus aurous and Staphylococcus Epidermidis. Some compounds showed a good inhibitory against the bacteria used.
